Reading, listening and looking up words

Open a book and the toolbar at the bottom gives you several tools.

• Read — read it yourself. Tap any word to see its meaning.
• Listen — hear native-speaker audio, with the current word highlighted.
• Read Aloud — read it out loud and AI scores your pronunciation.
• Words — study the book's key vocabulary.
• Exercises — quizzes and activities (see "Quizzes and activities").

Listen and Read Aloud appear on books that have audio; Words appears when the book has vocabulary data. Some books open on a Prep step (sound practice) you finish first before Read and Listen unlock.
